Interpersonal Skills:
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
Responsible For:
Greeting patients in a pleasant, polite and cooperative manner.
Answers the telephone by the third ring, directs calls, takes messages, uses overhead paging system, and responds to routine questions.
Ensures registration forms are filled out completely and are updated, obtains current insurance information from patients, and collect co-payments from patients.
Check in patients and schedule walk in appointments Make new patient packets Performs additional related tasks as requested.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Possesses effective communication skills including telephone etiquette Professional attitude, demeanor, and appearance Basic understanding of computer systems and computerized scheduling systems Knowledge of medical terminology Must be able to work under stress and be emotionally capable of coping with complex and/or changing conditions Requires the ability to prioritize, problem solve, make sound decisions, and work as a team Bilingual a plus!
